Milestones are a mandatory field on all projects because the start and end date of the milestones determines the reporting tables for the project. These dates, in turn, determines the view of tables on both the program and project 'Show All' screens as well as the timeline views on each individual project.
Work start date: The date the work begins for the project.
Work end date: The anticipated end date for all work related to the project. This can be edited if needed, although edits will have an impact on the end dates specified in any of the generated tables.
Project Closure: This date is not mandatory and is intended to be used as an overall wrap up for the project - beyond that date that the totality of the work is finished. The project closure will not affect the length of the generated tables.
Other Milestones: If you have additional milestones that you would like to track against, you can add those using the 'Other Milestones' tool. This tool will allow you to set any additional deadlines related to the project. These will display at the top of every project. Additional milestones will not affect the length of the created tables.
